Canton Sarajevo: 429 people to be engaged in public works

The Government of Canton Sarajevo, at today's session, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of CS, adopted the List of Applicants - Employers who have met the conditions for participation in the Public Works Program - 2015, reports the Patria News Agency.  

Employers registered for activities in the fields of environmental improvement and infrastructure construction, social protection, culture, tourism, and fair events in the Canton Sarajevo area could apply with their projects to the Public Call announced on July 6 this year.

The criteria for evaluating applications related to employer projects that are applying for the first time, then projects of significance for the wider social community in terms of direct benefit to a larger number of people, as well as projects of significance for the wider social community in terms of direct benefit to an individual, were taken into consideration.

The planned funds for these purposes amount to 663,000 KM and will enable the engagement of 429 unemployed persons for a period of two months with a monthly net compensation in the amount of 600 KM (gross 771.57 KM).

Through this program, employers can engage exclusively the most vulnerable categories of unemployed persons from the unemployment register, including demobilized soldiers and their family members, as well as beneficiaries of social protection rights.

Among the employers who will engage the most people under this Program are public companies "Rad", "Sarajevošume" "ViK" and Protected Natural Areas for the purpose of improving infrastructure, increasing hygiene levels, collecting and sowing seeds.

Red Cross organizations in Canton Sarajevo will engage additional people for home care and soup kitchen jobs, the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Youth will use the approved funds to improve the park for the blind, and ten people will be engaged for the promotion of craftsmen in Baščaršija under this Program.

The Public Institution "Employment Service of Canton Sarajevo" will conclude agreements on the implementation of this Program with employers on the adopted list, it was announced from the Government of CS.
