Inter-party negotiations on forming the government in Sarajevo Canton continue tomorrow. SDA and the Democratic Front have 17 MPs in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and are one vote short of a narrow majority, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
DF and SDA will not negotiate, nor have they negotiated with the two BOSS MPs, while they last met with a delegation from BPS - Sefer Halilović on Thursday evening, when they were told that their demands were too high, and that these two parties would not agree to give them the position of Vice President of the Federation of BiH, which they wanted for the party president Sefer Halilović.
According to Patria's information, BPS representatives have again requested a meeting in the coming days, hinting between the lines that they might abandon all their demands.
Meanwhile, two out of four SDP MPs have in principle agreed to support the SDA-DF coalition, which would amount to 19 assembly votes, enough to form a majority.
Whether BPS will eventually reduce its political appetites will be known in the next few days. If they abandon their previous demands, which caused the negotiations to break off three days ago, then for the coalition of the two parties it would mean an additional two votes, and with the two from SDP, the assembly majority would have 21 votes.
The constitutive session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly was held on November 21. At that time, MPs were only handed their certificates. It is still unknown when the continuation will be scheduled, at which the leadership will be elected.
