Truck with coffins of genocide victims passes through Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The remains of 33 victims killed in the genocide in July 1995 in the Srebrenica area will be transported today from Visoko to the Potočari Memorial Center, with a stop at several locations. At 12:00 PM, the truck with the coffins will stop in front of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where delegations and citizens will gather to pay tribute to the victims.

The truck will also stop in front of the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo, at Markale, and then head towards Potočari via Baščaršija, where it is expected to arrive in the afternoon.

So far, 6,610 genocide victims have been buried in Potočari. The youngest victim to be buried this year is Osman Cvrk, born in 1979, who was 16 years old at the time of his murder.

The oldest victim, and the only woman to be buried this year, will be Šaha Cvrk, who was 82 years old when she was killed.
