How 17-year-old Mohammed earned $72 million

Mohammed Islam from New York hasn't even turned 18 yet, and it's estimated that he has earned an incredible $72 million from stock trading during school breaks.

The teenager, who casually started dealing in stocks at the age of nine, now spends most of his high school breaks trading, among other things, oil and gold stocks. When not at school, he often takes his friends out for expensive dinners where they eat $400 caviar and other costly dishes, washed down with apple juice, writes the Daily Mail, reported by the Patria News Agency.

The young man doesn't reveal his exact net worth, but admits it's an eight-figure sum. He also revealed that he has used his wealth to buy a BMW for which he doesn't yet have a license, and to rent an apartment in Manhattan. However, his parents, who are immigrants from Asia, still don't allow him to move out of the family home in Queens.

Mohammed also boasts about his lavish lifestyle on social media. He regularly posts videos of himself partying, playing poker, and dancing with many girls.

His hard-earned money has certainly benefited his parents, whom he plans to help in the future as well.

A year after he started experimenting with cheap stocks, Mohammed's cousin introduced him further to the financial market. He soon developed a real passion for trading.

'What drives the world? Money. If money doesn't flow, if companies don't operate, there's no innovation, no products, no growth, no investment, no jobs,' says the 17-year-old, who posts 'More money, less problems' on his Instagram profile.

In an interview with New York Magazine, Mohammed revealed that his biggest inspiration in the financial world is billionaire Paul Tudor Jones, the 108th richest American according to Forbes.
