Kajganić transferred prosecutor who acted on criminal complaint against him to another department

(Patria) - Prosecutor Elvira Stanojlović of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, who acted on a complaint filed by Džermin Pašić against Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić, has been transferred to another department by his decision, Detektor sources confirmed.

By Kajganić's decision, Stanojlović was moved from the Department for Corruption to the Department for Organized Crime. Prosecutor Ćazim Hasanspahić, who was previously in the Department for Terrorism, was also moved to the same department.

Stanojlović acted on a criminal complaint filed by Džermin Pašić, Deputy Chief State Prosecutor, with the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime, and Corruption of the State Prosecutor's Office against his boss Kajganić and prosecutor Vedrana Mijović regarding the proceedings in the case of an attack on the constitutional order, in which the investigation against Milorad Dodik, Radovan Višković, and Nenad Stevandić was suspended.

By Kajganić's decision, Pašić, who was previously one of the managers and deputy head of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime, and Corruption, was transferred to the Special Department for War Crimes of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, he confirmed to Detektor, stating that he had been questioned several times in the past regarding the criminal complaint he filed against his boss.

After Hasanspahić was questioned regarding the same criminal complaint, he was also transferred to another department, multiple sources confirmed.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office responded to Detektor by stating that the Chief Prosecutor, in order to strengthen capacities for working on organized crime cases, especially the Sky team and cases involving evidence from encrypted applications Sky and Anom, where several prosecutorial decisions are expected this year, has "transferred two experienced prosecutors to the Department for Organized Crime" within Department II.

"Prosecutor and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Džermin Pašić has been transferred to the Special Department for War Crimes, as the prosecutor has experience from previous work on several complex war crimes cases in which he filed and prosecuted indictments," the Prosecutor's Office stated in its response.

They added that internal transfers of prosecutors are not uncommon and are carried out to strengthen prosecutorial capacities in segments where the analysis of results indicates a need, in order to achieve the best possible results for the prosecutorial institution.

When asked about the cases that were assigned to these prosecutors, the Prosecutor's Office replied that they will be assigned via the TCMS system to prosecutors working within the mentioned departments.

According to Detektor's information, Stanojlović was also the acting prosecutor in the case publicly known as "Vila Dedinje," where an investigation is underway against Milorad Dodik, the former president of Republika Srpska who was finally convicted for disobeying the High Representative's decisions.

The Center for Investigative Journalism (CIN) discovered back in 2009 that Dodik had to pay for the villa to be registered as his owner, but he only received a loan for its purchase eight months later.

While he was a member of the BiH Presidency, Dodik gave a statement to the State Prosecutor's Office regarding the purchase of an expensive villa in Belgrade.

"The problem is that this case has been ongoing since 2009, when it became public, and nothing concrete has happened since then. There is no concrete outcome. The fact that prosecutors on this case are being changed suggests that we do not expect any decision in this matter in the near future," CIN editor Aladin Abdagić told Detektor.

CIN previously reported that Dodik claimed he paid for the villa with loan money, but it turned out that he took out the loan from "Pavlović banka" a year later, on June 27, 2008, which raised a justified suspicion that the loan served as cover.
