(Patria) - When reports from the Financial Times and Reuters are weighed against the statements of Milorad Dodik, the contrast is more than obvious.
According to relevant international sources, Vladimir Putin offered Donald Trump "peace" at a meeting in Alaska solely on the condition that Ukraine withdraw from Donetsk. In essence – it is a classic ultimatum of "our condition for peace is your territory".
In Dodik's interpretation, however, everything looks completely different. He sees the meeting as courage and vision, as opening the door for dialogue, and insists that peace does not come from ultimatums and blackmail, but from conversation. The problem is that what Putin is proposing is precisely an ultimatum.
Dodik, it is true, is not a decisive player in this story. His statement changes nothing in the real balance of power between Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington.
But it is precisely in this irrelevance that an even greater absurdity is reflected; while key world leaders exchange messages that are essentially blackmail, Dodik interprets them as a sign of dialogue and justice.
This shows not only his political bias towards Moscow but also his complete loss of touch with reality.
In other words, Dodik is a minor figure in this story – but his reaction is further proof that he is completely lost in his attempt to present every Russian message as a peace-making vision, even when it is an open ultimatum.
