Kacin: Vesna Pusić's initiative will not pass, BiH is playing the victim!

There is no need for a new approach from the European Union towards BiH, because your country has had special treatment for a long time, which is why Vesna Pusić's initiative on BiH will not be adopted, stated Jelko Kacin, Member of the European Parliament from Slovenia, for the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

According to him, the international community bears part of the responsibility for the situation in BiH, but this does not absolve the BiH political leadership, which simply fails to fulfill the obligations it has accepted.

- Yes, they bear part of the responsibility, but that does not mean that everyone else can look into the air and do nothing – says Kacin.

The Slovenian politician sharply criticizes attempts to open up the international community to our country with some new approach.

- If politicians in BiH truly wanted to join the European Union and wanted a better future for the country, they would have long ago resolved the Sejdić-Finci case, which deals with elementary human rights, they would have long ago fulfilled the conditions for exporting milk and meat from BiH, they would have long ago found solutions for rationalizing the huge administration that suffocates and kills the economy. But, since that is not happening, the expectation that someone will come and embrace Bosnia and say, 'Let it be,' will not pass – says Kacin for NAP.

He says that the initiative of the Croatian Foreign Minister to offer BiH a special approach in European integration will not receive support within the international community.

- It will not, because Pusić should first understand that Croatia was blocked on its path to the EU for years due to non-cooperation with the Tribunal. This is not an EU problem, but a problem for the citizens of BiH, because your country has extended the visa regime for itself for another year, because you did not meet the conditions for its abolition on time. If you want it that way, so be it. When you decide to do something for yourselves and actually do it, then we can talk, but as long as you want others to think for you and save BiH, while you enjoy the status of a victim... That is terrible, especially for the younger generation – says Kacin.
