Jusko: We are looking for a location for forced isolation of persons not found at their address

SARAJevo, (Patria) – KS Prime Minister Mario Nenadić, after the session of the Crisis Staff of Sarajevo Canton, said that the KS Government analyzed the situation regarding the pandemic in the KS area today.

"We have 1,569 people in self-isolation in the KS area, and another 283 with expired self-isolation periods. A total of nine infected people in the KS area with one death. We discussed the declaration of an epidemic, but we will make decisions on that in the coming days," said Nenadić.

He stated that there is a need to improve primary healthcare.

Nihada Glamoč, commander of the Civil Protection Staff, said that the lists of persons over 65 years of age were updated today, and pharmacies will be designated where volunteers and members of the Red Cross will collect necessary medications and deliver them to the addresses of persons over 65. There are 2,200 such residents in the KS.

"Disinfection of all collective housing facilities began today, and there will be disinfectant in front of every entrance. Distribution of protective equipment to social categories has begun," said Glamoč.

Ismir Jusko, Minister of the MUP KS, said that the number of people who police officers cannot find at their address and who are under self-isolation measures is alarming.

"We are actively working with Civil Protection to find a facility where we will place persons who violate self-isolation in forced isolation. I am convinced that we should do this as soon as possible. Regarding the curfew, we have a tendency to increase the number of those who violate the movement ban. All persons caught violating the order for the second time will face a higher penalty. I ask citizens to adhere to all orders that have reached us," said the minister.

He also pointed out that work is underway to allow citizens to walk their pets after consulting with veterinary professionals.

Regarding the situation with migrants, 64 migrants were removed from the streets today and transferred to the center in Blažuj.

"Private accommodation presents a problem, but we are successfully finding and transporting them to Blažuj as well," said Jusko.

He added that there is information that large groups of people are gathering in some cafes, and that will also be sanctioned.

"We are living in a period when the coronavirus is spreading, and any such gathering can be a new hotspot. It is not in our interest for any of our members to be infected. Police officers are the greatest support to the health system, and taking them out of service is a great loss," said Jusko.

Minister of Finance of KS Jasmin Halebić said that an agreement on the procurement of ventilators between the KS Government and UNDP will be signed soon and then realized. All ventilators will be donated to health institutions.

He stated that the KS Government has opened a donation account for donations from individuals and legal entities, and the Government is the first contributor, with the Prime Minister and ministers in the KS Government donating 1/3 of their salaries to this account.

"We will regularly report on payments, respecting personal data, and we will report on the purpose for which the funds were spent," said Halebić.
