SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Ismir Jusko, Minister of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, said that a clash involving several hundred people occurred in the Blažuj migrant center, and that at one point staff withdrew due to the escalation.
"Members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior were dispatched to the scene, especially members of the Special Unit, which prevented further conflict," Jusko said.
He said that 20 people were injured, one seriously, who was kept at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. "The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the conflict," Jusko said.
Jusko confirmed that seven people are in forced isolation at the Bjelave Student Center for violating the prescribed isolation measures.
More than 2,000 people are housed in the Blažuj migrant center, and movement is prohibited under measures imposed by the Crisis Staffs.
