Joel Embiid Scores 70 Against Spurs

(Patria) - The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the San Antonio Spurs 133:123 in their arena last night.

Joel Embiid had a monstrous performance for the home team, scoring 70 points in 36.5 minutes on the court.

The Cameroonian added 18 rebounds and five assists. He shot 24/41 from the field (including one three-pointer) and made 21 of 23 free throws, reports Faktor.

Interestingly, on the same day 18 years ago, Kobe Bryant scored 81 points, which remains the second-best performance in NBA history.

The record for the most points in a single NBA game is still held by Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points against the New York Knicks in 1962.
