The only thing Croatia and Serbia agree on is tearing apart Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The policy of the Republic of Croatia towards Bosnia and Herzegovina is very dangerous and insidious, assesses former diplomat and professor Enver Halilović in an interview for the Patria News Agency (NAP).

- It is a purely Trojan horse policy under which Croatia, under the guise of help, offers Bosnia and Herzegovina gifts that actually suffocate and kill it - Halilović believes.

He described the statements of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković as hypocritical and demagogic. Plenković first stated last night that Croatia would not impose sanctions on RS President Milorad Dodik, and then today condemned "all those who have ambitions to destabilize BiH or any secessionist tendencies."

- Not only is that hypocritical, it is also demagoguery. And for Plenković to understand what he is actually saying about BiH, we should speak about his Croatia in the same way.

That means we should talk about the need to establish autonomy for Serbs in Croatia, who were a constituent people in that country until "Operation Storm." And also talk about the constituent rights of Bosnians and Herzegovinians, i.e., Bosniaks in Croatia.

In such a situation, Plenković can understand himself what he is saying about Bosnia and Herzegovina. Or, more precisely, he knows very well what he is saying, but this is how he should be answered - Halilović emphasizes.

To our question why Plenković, i.e., Croatia, is protecting Dodik, Halilović points out that Croatia has the same interests as Serbia, and that is tearing apart Bosnia and Herzegovina and preventing it from being a normal and functional state.

- They support each other like communicating vessels. The only thing in which Croatian and Serbian policies coincide is exclusively and primarily their hostile attitude towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. Everything else between them is different, but they only agree on that.

And that is an evident fact, which was once stated a few years ago by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić - "We agree on nothing with Croatian policy, except on the view of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

And he correctly and honestly stated a great truth. But it is not difficult for us to recognize, discover and see it - because we witness it every day. And that only confirms that they are also aware that they only agree with each other when it comes to BiH - Halilović says.

In all of this, he adds, Dodik is merely an executor of tasks and "an insignificant figure in a historical sense."

- He is simultaneously an executor of tasks for both Serbia and Russia. For Serbia - to the extent necessary for it to manage the Republika Srpska and annex it to itself, and for Russia - through influence on the RS to tear apart the European Union by tearing apart Bosnia and Herzegovina - Halilović points out for NAP.

Finally, he commented on the amendments to the BiH Election Law, which the HDZ BiH submitted to the parliamentary procedure. Plenković said last night that he fully supports the HDZ's demands.

Halilović emphasizes that the Troika, as a partner of the HDZ, has no other choice but to resist Čović's persistent attacks on the amendments to the BiH Election Law.

- I cannot imagine a situation where the Troika accepts the HDZ's anti-Bosnian proposal for amendments to the Election Law. And I truly do not believe in that level of anti-Bosnian and anti-state activity and policy of the Troika in resolving this open issue.

The opposition should also support the Troika so that they all together oppose the HDZ and tell it that the solution to the amendments to the BiH Election Law lies in the implementation of all previous rulings of the European Court of Human Rights - Halilović concluded in the interview for NAP.
