Most European leagues are entering the final stretch, and our national team players are playing crucial matches for their clubs. Out of the starting 11 Dragons playing in European teams, only our best player, Edin Džeko, has a chance to win the championship title, reports the Bosnian-Herzegovinian news agency Patria (NAP).
His Manchester City is trailing Liverpool, but if they win all their remaining matches, they will once again win the English championship title. Today, they are playing perhaps their toughest match away against Everton. Pjanić's Roma is having a phenomenal season and has already secured Champions League football, but they are behind Juventus, who will win the crown. Roma has not been this close to the title in a long time, as they are this season, but the team from Turin has been better.
The teams of as many as three of our national team players are fighting for survival, while E. Bičakčić's Braunschweig is already in a lower division. Vedad Ibišević's Stuttgart is having a terrible season and is only one place above the relegation zone.
They have five points more than their closest pursuer and should, however, remain in the top flight. Two of our players playing in Turkey, Ognjen Vranješ and Haris Medunjanin, are at the bottom of the table. Vranješ's Elazikspor is close to relegation, and Medunjanin's Gaziantep is slightly better positioned, but they are not safe yet.
The remaining part of the legion of Bosnians and Herzegovinians in Germany is mostly positioned in the middle of the table, and none of our national team players have a chance for the title anymore. Sead Kolašinac's Schalke 04 is in an excellent third place, which leads to the Champions League, and immediately behind them is Bayer Leverkusen, where our captain Emir Spahić plays. These teams will fight for the best possible European spot until the end.
Three of our players, goalkeeper Asmir Begović, Sejad Salihović, and Mensur Mujdža, are calmly awaiting the end of the season. Their teams, Stoke City, Hoffenheim, and Freiburg, are in the middle of the table and have no danger of relegation nor chances for Europe, reports NAP.
