Jasmin Šaljić criticized Haris Pašović

(Patria) - Jasmin Šaljić, a representative of the Party of BiH in the KS Assembly, reacted to the announcement that the Sarajevo Fest, starting on September 5, will be opened with the play "Boško and Admira" directed by Haris Pašović.

- So, the Festival will be opened by a story about deserters who, in the hardest times, abandoned their comrades, relatives, and friends, and under the guise of love and wartime horrors, tried to cross over to the enemy and join the ranks of Batko, priest Žućo, Duke Aleksić, and other killers, snipers, and various other sowers of death from the then-occupied Grbavica.

Honoring deserters and promoting that act is not a promotion of peace, but a slap in the face to all defenders and their families in the defense of the city, the country, civilization, and all other values during the siege of Sarajevo and the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Under the guise of love, promoting and justifying one of the most serious criminal offenses, "desertion," and presenting it as a value in society and the community is devastating!

In most countries, desertion in wartime conditions is punishable by death - Šaljić stated, adding that only in our country is it promoted, scripts are written, films are made, and plays are performed.

- What kind of message is this for tens of thousands of members of the Army and MUP of RBiH and their families who, during the defense in trenches and damp dugouts, damaged their health and bore the burden of aggression?

What kind of message is this for the families of those killed in the defense of the city and the country who gave everything they could for BiH?

What is the message for all citizens who were not overcome by defeatism. They fought with all possible shortages between shells and snipers, often without basic food supplies, water, electricity, gas, and firewood - said Šaljić.

He asks Pašović why he didn't think of making a film or a play for Fadila Odžaković - Žuta?

- She heroically died defending the city in hand-to-hand combat with Chetniks on Žuč. Why didn't you make a play about Vinko Šamarlić, a special unit member of the MUP? Instead of going to Barcelona for the Olympics that day, he went with his comrades to defend Hrasno brdo and died.

Ultimately, why don't you think of making a film or a play about all the wartime loves, of which there were tens of thousands in the besieged city, and who never even considered deserting and crossing over to the enemy or leaving BiH. And with that play, "Mister," you open the Sarajevo Fest.
