Jablanica and Maglaj will remain 'isolated' and quite distant from the highway with the construction of Corridor 5c

(Patria) - The construction of the highway on Corridor 5c will significantly change the route traveled by citizens of BiH, as well as all passers-by through our country, writes the portal Biznisinfo.ba.

In one part, there will be no significant difference, where the Corridor more or less follows the existing route, for example on the stretch Žepče - Zenica - Sarajevo - Konjic.

However, in some other parts, the Corridor significantly deviates from the existing main road routes, so some cities will remain "isolated", meaning they will no longer be on the main transport corridor through our country.

One such example is Jablanica, which will remain "cut off" when the Prenj tunnel is built, because after Konjic, the route will continue directly under the mountain massif and head towards Mostar.

However, another "reshuffle" will occur in the northern part of BiH. Namely, two cities will "swap places" there, and these are Tešanj and Maglaj.

Currently, Maglaj is on the main road, i.e., on the M17 road. On the other hand, Tešanj is quite far from this road, and practically no one stops in this city "in passing", meaning only those whose destination is Tešanj go there.

With the construction of the highway, which is in full swing in that area, this situation will change. Namely, the highway turns west towards Tešanj approximately halfway between Žepče and Maglaj, and then heads towards Doboj via a different route than the M17.

The highway will pass in the immediate vicinity of Tešanj, which will emerge from isolation and be connected to this important road route.

Maglaj, on the other hand, will remain quite far from this road route. This does not mean that it will be isolated in the true sense of the word, as it will still have a main road from which it will be possible to access the highway relatively quickly, and this means that the residents of this city, as well as the companies operating there, will benefit greatly.

However, it will no longer be "in sight" of passers-by who might stop in this city for rest or out of curiosity.

Here we must mention two things. Tešanj, although it was "isolated", managed to develop into one of the wealthiest areas in BiH, so there is no reason why others should not do so regardless of how close or far they are from the highway. Tešanj will now receive an additional boost to its development.

Secondly, the impact on the previously mentioned Jablanica will be greater, primarily due to the numerous catering facilities in this city that are traditionally stopped at on the way to the sea. Maglaj does not have such a tradition, so the impact will be smaller.

Finally, let us also note that Corridor 5c connects countries, not local communities.
