Body of female person pulled from Miljacka, cause of death being determined

(Patria) - A female person died after falling into the Miljacka river.

"Around 10:15 AM, the Sarajevo Novo Police Department received information that a body was spotted in the Miljacka riverbed. Police, ambulance, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. After the body was recovered at 10:30 AM, an emergency doctor confirmed the death of the female person. The duty prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office was informed and will be supervising the investigation at the scene," the police announced.

Media previously reported that the body was found near the Ars Aevi bridge, which is currently under reconstruction. The scene has been secured with yellow tape, and police officers are present.

It is still unknown whether the woman fell into the Miljacka while crossing the scaffolding set up on the bridge or died in another way.

In recent days, citizens have been risking their lives by crossing the scaffolding.
