Russian gas exports to Europe via TurkStream hit record high in January

(Patria) - Russia increased gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream pipeline in January to a record high since its launch in 2020 – to 1.56 billion cubic meters, according to calculations by TASS based on data from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG).

Deliveries via the TurkStream pipeline to European countries in January rose by two percent compared to December 2024 and jumped by 27 percent compared to January 2024 to 1.56 billion cubic meters. This is an absolute record for monthly deliveries since the pipeline was launched in January 2020. The previous record was recorded in August 2023 with 1.53 billion cubic meters.

The TurkStream pipeline, with a capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas, runs from Russia across the Black Sea to Turkey and is designed to supply gas to Turkey and countries in southern and southeastern Europe.

It is the last active route for Russian gas deliveries to Europe after transit through Ukraine was suspended. The starting point of TurkStream is the Russkaya compressor station near Anapa.

Russia increased gas deliveries to Turkey by 2.6% to just over 21 billion cubic meters at the end of 2024. Russia supplies Turkey with gas via two pipelines across the Black Sea: Blue Stream and TurkStream.
