Flood Damage Assessment Reports to Be Submitted to the Federal Assessment Commission by December 15

The Federal Commission for Damage Assessment today called on all cantonal damage assessment commissions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to submit, as soon as possible and no later than December 15, 2014, summary reports on damage assessments in the cantons caused by natural disasters in May and August 2014, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

This appeal by the Federal Commission followed a conclusion reached at the 142nd session of the FBiH Government held on December 4, 2014, which tasked it with processing all reports from cantonal commissions submitted by that date and acting upon them as soon as possible.

The appeal also emphasizes that only after processing the submitted summary reports will the Federal Commission for Damage Assessment be able to submit to the FBiH Government a proposal for providing assistance to the cantons for remedying the damage.

At the same session, the FBiH Government tasked the Fund for Assistance to Areas Affected by Natural Disasters in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Commission for Damage Assessment to regularly exchange information on allocated funds to avoid duplication in the distribution of aid.
