Fenerbahce's bus shot at

The driver of the bus carrying Fenerbahce players was injured in a firearms attack on Saturday evening, BBC reports, according to the Patria News Agency.

The injured driver was taken to hospital, and according to initial information, no players of the team returning from an away match against Rizespor were harmed.

Fenerbahce's General Secretary Mahmut Uslu commented on the attack as "very wrong".

- We came for sport, we came to play football, said Uslu.

Trabzon Governor confirmed that the bus was attacked with firearms.

- According to the latest data, it appears to be a rifle, said Abdulcelil Oz.

In the away match against Rizespor, Fenerbahce took the top spot in the Turkish league with a 5:1 victory and now has 56 points, one more than second-placed Galatasaray, and two more than third-placed Besiktas, who both have a game in hand.
