Traffic Regime Changes During the Sarajevo Film Festival

(Patria) - The Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton has given consent to the citizens' and artists' association "Obala Art Centar Sarajevo" for a temporary change of traffic regime in the streets Branilaca Sarajeva, Zelenih beretki, Čemaluša, Radićeva, Franca Lehara and Kulovića, due to the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The temporary change of traffic regime consists of:

a) in the period from August 16 to 23, 2024, from 17:00 to 24:00 hours and from 00:00 to 02:00 hours, as well as on August 24, 2024, from 00:00 to 02:00 hours, a complete suspension of traffic and parking of vehicles, except for clearly marked and/or announced vehicles of the organizer, and vehicles from articles 125 and 126 of the Law on the Basics of Traffic Safety on Roads in BiH in the following streets:

- Zelenih beretki - from the intersection with Ćumurija street to the intersection with Gimnazijska street,
- Branilaca Sarajeva - from the intersection with Gimnazijska street to the intersection with Kulovića street,
- Čemaluša - from the intersection with Mula Mustafe Bašeskije street to the intersection with Branilaca Sarajeva street,
- Ćumurija - from the intersection with Obala Kulina bana street to the intersection with Zelenih beretki street (Entry/exit is allowed for users of the parking area in Ćumurija street, through Ćumurija street towards Obala Kulina bana road),
- Radićeva - from the intersection with Obala Kulina bana street to the intersection with Branilaca Sarajeva street,

b) in the period from August 13 to 24, 2024, a complete suspension of traffic and parking of vehicles in Franca Lehara street, from the entrance to the parking area on the right side in the direction of vehicle movement to the entrance to the parking area of the Holiday hotel, with the condition of ensuring vehicle exit from the underground garage of the ALTA shopping center in the opposite direction, with mandatory assistance from members of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton.

Traffic flow regulation on the section of complete traffic suspension and at intersections where traffic is directed to alternative routes will be carried out by members of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton. After the determined time period, i.e., after creating safe conditions for the flow of motor vehicle traffic, MUP members will establish the regular traffic regime.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, the temporary change of traffic regime should be implemented as follows:

- Traffic flow regulation on the section of complete traffic suspension and at intersections where traffic is directed to alternative routes will be carried out by members of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton,

- Parking is prohibited in Branilaca Sarajeva street during the approved change of traffic regime along the entire length of the road,

- During the change of traffic regime, parking is prohibited in Zelenih beretki street along the entire length of the road.

- Parked vehicles at the locations of the temporary change of traffic regime shall be removed through intervention by MUP members and engagement of the competent towing services of KJKP "Rad".

- Alternative routes for movement on the section of complete traffic suspension are the roads that intersect with the sections of the participants' route.

- Occasional passage of previously parked vehicles shall be allowed for exit towards alternative routes from all parking areas whose connections are at the junction with streets where the changed traffic regime is in effect.

- The taxi stand in Branilaca Sarajeva street, near the National Theatre Sarajevo, shall be relocated during the change of traffic regime to the bus stop opposite Šenoina street.

- For the safe flow of traffic, during the approved period, it is necessary to temporarily relocate the terminal "Dom Armije", as well as ensure the presence of the competent service of all JGPP operators, who will change the regime of regular public city transport in accordance with this decision.

- The taxi stand in Zelenih beretki street shall be moved to the first adjacent taxi stand not covered by the temporary change of traffic regime.

- After the reason for the temporary traffic suspension ceases, the organizer of the event is obliged to remove the necessary props for holding the event and return the roads to their previous condition.
