SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's session in Sarajevo, considered the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Allocation of Public Revenues in the Federation of BiH, which was proposed by the Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, Hamdija Abdić, under an expedited procedure.
As highlighted in the Government's opinion, the proposed amendments to the Law directly affect the cantons' allocated revenues, reducing their share in the distribution of indirect tax revenues for financing cantonal functions from 51.48 percent to 51 percent, announced the FBiH Government's Public Relations Office.
This requires the consent of all cantons for the reduction of their share in the distribution, as their revenues are directly reduced in this manner.
According to the Proposal, these funds would be redistributed to the City of Bihać at a rate of 0.20 percent and to the Municipality of Velika Kladuša at a rate of 0.03 percent to mitigate the economic damage caused by the migrant crisis in these local self-government units.
The Government's position is that the Bill requires the regular parliamentary procedure for consideration and eventual adoption.
As confirmed for Patria, regardless of the Government's proposal, the amendments to the Law will proceed under an expedited procedure.
