(Patria) - A ceremonial academy at the Youth Centre of the Goražde Culture Centre this evening marked the 35th anniversary of the founding of the SDA in this area.
SDA President Bakir Izetbegović in his address emphasised that Bosnia's rivers and the towns on them - Brčko, Mostar, the towns on the Una and Sana rivers, and especially Goražde on the Drina, are the anchor points we hold onto.
- These points bear great pressures, and under great pressures people either break or grow stronger. Goražde, a hero city, and its residents are an example of strong, capable people.
You have endured everything, before the war, during the war, and in the post-war period. You survived and you stayed - stressed Izetbegović, who recalled the history and role of SDA cadres, from the late Hadža Efendić to the present day.
He also recalled that during the governments led by the SDA, Goražde was always in focus and had the support it deserves. Residents of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina testify that this is not the case today.
- The SDA will certainly return in 2026, and it will return the focus to Goražde - he stressed.
Izetbegović also spoke about the current situation, recalling that with the help of foreigners and after the suspension of the Constitution, an incompetent and incapable Troika was installed in power.
- Their incompetence will force people to look back a little and ask themselves what would have happened if the SDA had not been there in critical moments of recent history.
To ask themselves what would have happened if, instead of the SDA, decisions had been made by the "Troika members", so servile to the SNSD-HDZ alliance, who do not know how to repair the bridge in Jablanica after the floods, who leave important positions to Dodik and Čović, who burden the Federation with debt, who do not take care of pensioners... - said Izetbegović.
The SDA, as he pointed out, knew for decades how to maintain stability and achieve progress, with the SDS, with the SNSD, and with the HDZ. The most devastated and ruined parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly inhabited by Bosniaks and where the SDA mostly ruled, became the most economically developed parts of the country.
- Novalić's Government left behind economic stability and progress, solved numerous problems, increased employment, left full budgets, and successful public companies.
Under the leadership of SDA cadres, we progressed in everything, sometimes faster, sometimes slower, but we progressed. With the arrival of the imposed Troika government, everything went downhill.
We live in blockades, stagnation, we are not advancing towards the EU, towards NATO, the crisis is constant, borrowing is enormous, price increases are ever greater. If we want what's best for the state and the people, the Troika must go - said Izetbegović.
The Troika, as he pointed out, constantly insults people's intelligence. First, they strengthened Dodik, were servile towards him, gave him strength, positions and money, and now they claim that they will defeat him.
- Dodik's downfall is happening not thanks to the Troika, but despite them. Dodik defeated himself because he forced the international community, the OHR and the judiciary to finally react, something the SDA had been insisting on and pressuring for years - stressed Izetbegović.
He stated that after the mistake they made by removing the biggest dam against anti-state policies from power, the attitude of foreigners towards the SDA is now changing, that in the last ten days he has had meetings with a number of ambassadors, and that there will be more such meetings in the coming period.
Before the ceremonial academy, Izetbegović held a working meeting with the leadership of the SDA Goražde and the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton.
