(Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović met today with the CDU rapporteur for the Western Balkans and Member of the German Bundestag Peter Beyer.
The current political situation, the European path of our country, and the possibilities of overcoming blockades and stagnation in the work of institutions, especially in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, were discussed.
It was particularly emphasized that due to the lack of responsibility and political will of the current authorities, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are left without significant financial resources provided by the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which were intended for economic development, strengthening infrastructure, digitalization, and improving the standard of living.

Izetbegović and Beyer also discussed the need to strengthen the rule of law, the independence of institutions, and a more decisive fight against corruption, as key prerequisites for economic development, attracting investments, and BiH's progress towards membership in the European Union.
Special attention was paid to the upcoming General Elections, especially in the context of implementing modern electoral technologies that should ensure greater transparency of the electoral process, reduce the scope for abuse, and restore citizens' trust in the electoral procedure.
The meeting also discussed cooperation between SDA and CDU within the European People's Party.
