SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said today after visiting the KO SDA Sarajevo that the formation of the federal and state government will proceed in one package, but that this package will develop gradually. For SDA, the red line is respect for the BiH Constitution and the rule of law.
"We cannot make unconstitutional and illegal compromises, and SDA should not be accused of having a hard stance. There will be no concessions on this. If they think someone is ready for the lower level of government, specifically the RS Assembly, to order the competent state level of government that there is no NATO path, which is unconstitutional, and that the Defense Law is not respected, then let them find a partner. SDA will not be a partner who will agree to that. If we break this principle when it comes to the rule of law and the Constitution, then the question is what is next," said Izetbegović.
He said that SDS does not have the capacity for state government, but also has no scheduled meetings with the leaders of HDZ and SNSD.
The SDA president also spoke about the situation with Aluminij Mostar, stating that the current situation and the 418 million KM debt in that company were caused by unilateral policy.
"We cannot allow the Aluminij problem to be transferred to Elektroprivreda BiH. Electricity has its price and that must be respected. Experts should resolve this, let's see what to do finally. We transport bauxite from the other side of the globe, we only make aluminum ingots there and only export further. Aluminij should have become a generator, a base on which the next series of companies, thousands of jobs in final production, would be based. That never happened. It produces more debt and problems than aluminum. This must be thoroughly resolved," said the SDA president.
Izetbegović said that the KS Government is a "pilot project supported by the international community."
He pointed out that he considers the most dangerous and malignant problem of the current KS Government to be "that they are ready to engage in trade when it comes to something that is not traded, and that is the truth about what happened in BiH, and especially in KS from 1992 to 1995."
"All citizens who were in Sarajevo know very well what happened there. It was a besieged city where people, civilians and children were killed, and you cannot, just because you pleased some foreigners, engage in trade, in searching for some 'least common denominator', in compromise about what happened in that difficult time of aggression against BiH," said Izetbegović.
The SDA president said that the backbone of the state government consists of SDA, HDZ, and SNSD, or SDA with SBB and DF.
"And then SDA, SBB and DF will be a coalition at lower levels of government, and I think this package will be rounded off in the next three to four months," he said, and when asked if SDA and SBB would form a new cantonal government in KS, Izetbegović answered affirmatively, stating that it "might be the last thing or it will be in a package with the Council of Ministers and the Federal Government."
