Izetbegović and Čović: No Agreement on Forming Governments in HNK and SBK

Today, Dragan Čović, President of HDZ BiH, and Bakir Izetbegović, Deputy President of SDA, met at the HDZ BiH headquarters in Mostar, reports the Patria news agency.

After the meeting, the two leaders gave a statement to the media, where Čović said they discussed obligations and the implementation of election results, with an emphasis on the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Central Bosnia Canton.

At the meeting, they also commented on the current functioning of the executive and legislative authorities at the entity and state levels, and are now seeking ways to improve certain matters.

-I would like to have the government in HNK and SBK as soon as possible. I think we have wasted all possible time; I personally advocate for the idea that this should be done immediately, said Dragan Čović.

-HDZ BiH will very soon adopt a position on the swift establishment of authorities so that we can start dealing with concrete issues, rather than discussing the government for half a year. It is up to us to conduct another round of talks with our associates, as well as with the third party that is currently not here, in order to speed up the entire process, concluded Dr. Čović.

Izetbegović stated that at today's meeting there was no time to go into detail on important issues, that they did not manage to reach any special agreement, and that they will continue negotiations, as announced by HDZ BiH.
