(Patria) -Today's date is a reminder of the historic decision made on November 25, 1943, when our ancestors clearly stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to no one but itself, the homeland of all its peoples and citizens, founded on the principles of equality, freedom and unity.
This was stated in his congratulatory message on the occasion of November 25 - Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by Bakir Izetbegović, President of the Party of Democratic Action.
"Although faced with fascism that had already ravaged much of the world, Bosnians and Herzegovinians had the courage to oppose it, but also the vision to build, in such circumstances, a state founded on the idea of equality and a shared Bosnian-Herzegovinian identity," Izetbegović emphasized and added:
"Today, 81 years later, as conflicts in the world intensify, bloc divisions become more pronounced, and regional and domestic factors increasingly openly destabilize the situation in the country and slow its progress, Bosnia and Herzegovina faces new challenges. The path we take will depend primarily on ourselves and our readiness to complete the fight for freedom, equality, and the civilizational values on which our Homeland has rested for centuries."
"Therefore, today's date as a symbol of those values and the struggle for their preservation is not only a reminder of the past, but also a guide for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a modern, democratic and prosperous state.
In that spirit, I congratulate all citizens in the country and abroad on November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina," reads the congratulatory message from Bakir Izetbegović.
