Izetbegović: I will be one of the candidates for SDA president

On the eve of the SDA Main Board session, Bakir Izetbegović, Deputy President of SDA, stated that he hopes SDA will continue to be a generator of processes that will improve the socio-economic status of citizens in BiH, reports the reporter of the BiH news agency Patria.

- SDA is a party that has existed for 25 years and many professional staff have emerged who can lead this party. I will be one of the candidates, and we will see how many opponents I will have.

He further commented on the appeal filed with the Constitutional Court of BiH regarding the celebration of the RS holiday.

- MPs in RS have given themselves the exclusive right to celebrate the Day of RS, but that day is not January 9th, but November 25th. I think the Constitutional Court will make the right decision, because if I didn't think so, I wouldn't have filed the appeal – said Izetbegović.

When asked by Patria journalists how he viewed Milorad Dodik's visit to Potočari and Srebrenica, Izetbegović said that it was not complete.

- I think Dodik should have acknowledged the genocide that happened there during this visit. It is good that he went, but this visit is still not complete. He unnecessarily mentioned the relations between BiH and Turkey, which could harm the friendly relations between these two countries – said Izetbegović, adding that the resolution to be adopted on April 25th at the SNSD Congress is also an unnecessary act.
- SNSD is a party that has problems, and these resolutions can lead to some unilateral referendums, which is not good because Bosniaks and Croats also live in RS – added Izetbegović.
