Izetbegović: It would have been good if Trump Jr. had also come to Sarajevo, but I think paid lobbyists prevented it

(Patria) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) met in Sarajevo today, and the party leader Bakir Izetbegović addressed the media after the session.

At the press conference, Izetbegović first read out the adopted conclusions, and then answered journalists' questions.

Speaking about the Court of BiH's verdict regarding the political engagement of SNSD president Milorad Dodik, he said he thought Dodik would find himself in a situation where he could not even remain president of SNSD, meaning he would not be able to sign the lists or authorize someone to do so in the upcoming elections.

Regarding the verdict of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo on the lawsuit filed by his wife Sebija against the University of Sarajevo, Izetbegović stated that "everything started with the lie of Dr. Asim Kurjak that he was never a mentor and that Sebija Izetbegović did not obtain her doctorate under him".

- We managed to find a film showing him praising the doctorate, attended by a few hundred influential Sarajevans, witnesses. Then they misplaced Sebija Izetbegović's index, which we managed to find through our connections, instead of the faculty keeping it.

Then they questioned it, sent graphologists to Zagreb, who determined that it was valid - said Izetbegović, writes Faktor.

After that, he added, came the statement of the former dean of the Faculty of Dentistry in Sarajevo, Muhamed Ajanović.

- Ajanović said that everything was done under pressure, at the request of Rifat Škrijelj (Rector of UNSA), and I will tell you, ultimately, at the request of Konaković - said Izetbegović.

Answering journalists' questions, the SDA leader also commented on the visit of US President Donald Trump Jr. to Banja Luka.

- Allegedly, he came as a private businessman. I think it would have been good if Donald Trump Jr. had also come to Sarajevo, and I think paid lobbyists prevented it.

Lobbying in RS is paid for with taxpayer money, and part of the money is transferred from the Federation, so the FBiH, unfortunately, participates in Milorad Dodik's lobbying - concluded Izetbegović.
