Izetbegović: The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina defended the state and the people in an unequal fight against multiple times stronger aggressors

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović sent sincere congratulations on the occasion of April 15, the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to all members of the most honorable armed force that ever existed.

"The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina defended and protected the state and the people in an unequal fight against multiple times stronger aggressors under conditions of an imposed arms embargo.

There are few cases in history where, under such circumstances, an army, with incredible courage and chivalry, also showed nobility, not retaliating for massive and brutal crimes and not destroying religious buildings, which was systematically done by the aggressor forces. Therefore, every member of the Army should be especially proud.

The honorable generation that made up the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina defended the state, the honor and dignity of the Bosnian people, civilizational values, as well as the values woven into the centuries-old history of our homeland.

The task before current and future generations is to defend in peace the achievements for which the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina fought, to strengthen the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina on those laid foundations, and to create a prosperous society tailored to every person in our country.

May God's mercy and eternal memory be upon all fallen members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Izetbegović stated.
