Serbia Eliminated: BiH Football Players Best at Casino Austria Tournament

The team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in amateur futsal won first place at the integration tournament in Salzburg, after BiH footballers defeated the Serbian team, writes Patria.
The same tournament is simultaneously held in four other cities in Austria. The grand final is in Salzburg on September 11. BiH is the absolute favorite of the competition.

The Casino Austria Integration Football World Cup is a futsal tournament initiated by the well-known radio host Erwin Josef Himelbauer from Salzburg. The tournament involves 1,800 athletes and 150 teams, speaking a total of 50 different languages. The teams are composed of footballers living in Austria.

The goal is to eliminate any potential linguistic, religious, and cultural barriers during football. UEFA has declared the tournament one of the best sports projects in Europe.

This football festival, and at the same time a very important integration project, best showcases how many people from all parts of the world live and work in Austria. Around 6,000 people of BiH origin live in Salzburg alone.

During the Casino Austria tournament, each team represents the colors of their home country.

The team from Bosnia and Herzegovina is led by Nazif Šabić and Mersudin Selak. So far, they have been first in their group three times. Among 48 countries. The group in which BiH plays is considered one of the toughest groups. In previous years, BiH lost in the semi-finals or finals, mostly after penalty shootouts.

The initiator of the tournament, Himelbauer, said that the BiH footballers were the best team to have played in the ten-year history of the tournament this year. They are the absolute favorites to win the title, writes Patria.
