Pro-rectors elected, UNSA allocates 200,000 KM to aid flood-affected areas

(Patria) - At the 1st constitutive session of the Senate of the University of Sarajevo held today, October 7, 2024, the pro-rectors of the University of Sarajevo were elected for the mandate period 2024–2028.

In accordance with the Law on Higher Education of Sarajevo Canton, the Statute of the University of Sarajevo, and the Rulebook on the Election of Pro-Rectors of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, submitted his proposal for the appointment of new pro-rectors to the Senate of the University of Sarajevo, which made the decision on the election of new pro-rectors.

At the Senate session held, the pro-rectors of the University of Sarajevo were elected for the mandate period 2024–2028:

- Pro-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Dženana Husremović, Associate Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Philosophy in the scientific fields of Psychological Methodology and Work Psychology, Department of Psychology.

- Pro-Rector for Scientific Research of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Naris Pojskić, Full Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Health Studies in the scientific field of Laboratory Experimental Technologies and Scientific Advisor at the University of Sarajevo – Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in the scientific fields of Genetics and Molecular Biology.

- Pro-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Kemal Durić, Full Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Pharmacy in the subjects: Pharmacognosy and Drug Chemistry I and Pharmacognosy and Drug Chemistry II, Department of Pharmacognosy.

- Pro-Rector for Quality of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Dušanka Bošković, Associate Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Electrical Engineering in the scientific field of Automation and Electronics.

- Pro-Rector for Finance of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Benina Veledar, Associate Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Economics in the scientific field of Accounting and Auditing.

- Pro-Rector for Art, Artistic Research, Culture and Sports of the University of Sarajevo, Mr. Arma Tanović Branković, Associate Professor at the University of Sarajevo – Academy of Performing Arts in the artistic field of Acting.

The mandate of the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, began on October 1, 2024, and lasts for four years, i.e., until September 30, 2028. The mandates of the pro-rectors follow the mandate of the Rector of the University of Sarajevo.

At today's session, the Senate of the University of Sarajevo decided that member institutions of the University of Sarajevo will make available to the Government of Sarajevo Canton financial resources in the amount of 200,000.00 KM from their own revenues as assistance to flood-affected areas.
