Body of twelfth migrant killed in boat capsize on Drina river recovered

(Patria) - The body of the twelfth migrant who died when a boat capsized on the Drina river was found today in the village of Tegare near Bratunac.

This was confirmed by the acting director of the Civil Protection Administration of Republika Srpska, Boris Trninić, who explained that the body was found by locals, as reported by Srna.

- Civil Protection members marked the location where the body was found, and a decision is now awaited on whether it will be handed over to the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska or Serbia, which will lead the further investigation - Trninić stated.

The boat carrying migrants, who were illegally attempting to cross from Serbia into Bosnia and Herzegovina, capsized two days ago on the Drina river between Drlača near Ljubovija and Orlica near Zvornik.

The Zvornik Police Department earlier announced that out of 30 migrants who tried to cross from Serbia into Bosnia and Herzegovina by boat, 15 reached the shore.

Twelve bodies have been recovered from the Drina, including that of a baby, believed to be no older than nine months.
