RS Ministry of Interior comments on 'Alfa' operation: Three persons arrested for organized crime

(Patria) - Police officers of the Administration for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska (MUPRS), in cooperation with police officers of Brčko District, carried out an operational action codenamed "Alfa" within which persons with initials I.B. and A.K. from Banja Luka and S.K. from Brčko were arrested, who are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of organized crime in connection with the criminal offense of unauthorized drug trafficking.

Based on search warrants issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, multiple searches of residential buildings and vehicles of the arrested persons were conducted yesterday in the area of Banja Luka and Brčko, during which certain business documentation of private companies with various activities owned by the said persons was found and seized, as well as a number of mobile phones and computers, firearms, several expensive passenger motor vehicles, certain equipment intended for equipping an improvised laboratory for the cultivation and production of narcotic substances, and other items that may serve as material evidence in criminal proceedings.

During the course of today, the arrested persons will be brought to the premises of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further processing, along with a report on the committed criminal offenses.

The stated operational activity is the result of a multi-year international investigation by the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUROPOL, and investigative bodies of the Republic of Austria and the Czech Republic, the RS Ministry of Interior announced.
