From Krajina they tell Konaković: No good comes from imposed solutions

(Patria) - The functioning of the Government of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) led by Prime Minister Nijaz Hušić is impeccable, given that all actors who are participants in the government reach decisions by consensus.

This was stated for the Patria News Agency (NAP) by the President of the Cantonal Organization (KO) of the SDA USK, Jasmin Musić, emphasizing that nearly two full years of intensive work and activity of the USK Government have passed.

- What characterizes its work is a transparent relationship both within the government itself and towards the public. And because of that, there is almost no criticism, not only from government actors and other parties in relation to the SDA, which proposed the prime minister, but even the opposition has had no serious objections.

There is no specific or serious problem, there is no scandal that would shake the credibility of this government or any of its members, so these are aspects that make us very satisfied. I believe that the citizens of USK perceive the political reality in this way as well.

On the other hand, it is important to emphasize that all local communities have absolutely equal treatment by the USK Government through public calls, through the implementation of grants, through project financing.

There is no privileged position for any individual, environment, municipality, city, and no one can really dispute that, because it is shown by the facts, photographs from the signing of contracts by various departments that conducted certain public calls.

All municipalities are evenly and equally represented. Of course, the more mature and serious a project is, it can receive greater support, but that is to an extent that in no way can justify an assessment that someone is predestined to get something, while someone else is disqualified for political reasons - says Musić.

In recent days in USK, there has been an attempt to replace the current government and establish a new one led by Šuhret Fazlić (NIP), who ultimately backed down from it. We asked Musić what lies behind this story about the reconstruction of the USK Government?

- This is not the first time the process of replacing the government has been activated, and we understand it exclusively as a process. So, coming to power is a process, and leaving power is also a process, so this is not foreign to us. As a party, in recent years we have gone through both segments of political engagement, both in Krajina and throughout BiH - notes Musić.

According to him, the occasion, cause, and reason for these attempts to reconstruct the USK Government is actually the desire to satisfy the People's European Union (NES), which conditions its support for the Federal Government in the Federal Parliament on its own inclusion in power at the USK level.

- Simply put, this is not an atmosphere in which a government should fall, a government that, I repeat, treats all municipalities equally, behaves correctly towards the public and social partners, fulfills its obligations on time, has no stain, no scandal, no one has an indictment among the key actors and holders of power.

And in these circumstances where everyone has their own space for action and engagement in those areas of life for which they believe they have personnel, it is difficult to motivate people to fight for a change, and that is the reason why the change does not happen. At least until this moment - emphasizes Musić.

The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina has stated that it will not participate in forming a new coalition in the Una-Sana Canton if it were to be led by NiP.

Musić believes that the Party for BiH is motivated by the fact that they would then be part of a government led by NIP, and that does not fit into the narrative it propagates on a broader level.

- It seems to me that they feared that this would disrupt that narrative and jeopardize the consumption of that narrative in the public, which has its positive effects, but also through the perception of a part of voters and citizens - Musić assesses.

Our interlocutor briefly commented on yesterday's statement by NIP leader Elmedin Konaković, who spoke about the, so far unsuccessful, attempt to replace the USK Government.

- All political logic ceases when you cross from Mrkonjić Grad towards Ključ. That is the most beautiful part of BiH, those are people with the biggest hearts.

Defiant, brave, proud people who have a political spite that I have found difficult to understand for years. Half of my gray hairs come from trying to understand the processes in Krajina - said Konaković.

- I will only refer to the old Bosnian saying - no good comes from imposed solutions - Musić briefly replied.

We also asked him what we can expect in the coming period regarding the story about the reconstruction of the USK Government?

- We will continue to be transparent as the party leading this government in the person of Prime Minister Nijaz Hušić, a very experienced man who spent a lot of time at the cantonal level, who left the Parliament of the Federation and gave up a comfortable mandate in the House of Representatives.

He came here, accepted the obligation to lead the government, received two-thirds support in the USK Assembly, and has more or less maintained that support for two full years now. But at no point was it questionable that we, as a party, would continue to be dedicated to work, projects, a positive attitude towards our partners, and even pleasant communication with opposition parties.

We do not want to radicalize the situation, we invite them to help us lower tensions, so that we do not produce confusion, discord, or disorder in USK. Let this not be a canton of incidents, let us finish this mandate and be able to say at the end of the mandate what the results were.

After the elections, of course, some new combinations will follow, so we will see how it all looks. To make such changes, such interventions, a year before the end of the mandate, I think would be irresponsible.

I think it would not bring any serious positive results, without of course underestimating anyone who would come into that government instead of the current ministers, but I think it would be good for this to end in the direction it started in the first year after the General Elections in 2022.

I think the fact that there is no serious argument why the government should be changed, except for the argument of respecting the position and need of the headquarters of the parties that run the Federal government, speaks enough in favor of the fact that the change will not happen - emphasizes Musić.

Finally, he adds that in the coming days, the anniversary of one of the largest liberation operations of the Army of the Republic of BiH will be marked, in which Bosanski Petrovac, Ključ, Bosanska Krupa, and Sanski Most were liberated.

- Our focus will be on implementing the planned program activities and respectfully remembering all those who secured our freedom 30 years ago and enabled us to return to our homes, and we will leave politics aside. I believe that other actors are thinking in that direction as well - concludes Musić in an interview with NAP.
