(Patria) - Zoran Galić, former director of the BiH Border Police for two terms, and now deputy director of SIPA, appointed in February, has accumulated more criminal charges for various criminal offenses in recent years.
For years, we have been publishing letters from border police officers who warned of irregularities in this police agency. Criminal charges were filed with the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and information was also forwarded to other police agencies. They pointed to illegal appointments, rigged competitions, and warned of corruption in the competition for the admission of 150 cadets, which turned out to be absolutely true. As director of the BiH Border Police, Galić enabled a certain group of people to receive a series of benefits, from permanent bonuses, use of official vehicles to appointments to various commissions where they carried out various manipulations with tacit consent.

After several inquiries from the Patria News Agency, and finally referring to the Law on Free Access to Information, the BiH Prosecutor's Office has responded regarding the number of cases opened against Zoran Galić and which prosecutors are in charge of them.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office has opened six cases: three marked KTK (known perpetrator of a corruption offense), two marked KTAK (undetermined criminal offense or perpetrator - corruption offenses), and one case marked KTA (undetermined criminal offenses or perpetrators, indicating an unlawful act).
The KTK cases are being handled by three prosecutors: two cases opened in 2022 by Bojana Jolović and Mirza Hukeljić. The third case from 2023 is handled by prosecutor Elvira Stanojlović.
Regarding the KTAK cases, both are from 2021 and are handled by Bojana Jolović and Igor Dubak. Prosecutor Dubak is also handling the KTA case from 2021.

Part of the BiH Prosecutor's Office response regarding cases against Zoran Galić
Interestingly, Bojana Jolović is the prosecutor in charge of the high-profile corruption case in the BiH Border Police, specifically the rigged competition for cadet admission. Although there were valid reasons to annul such a competition because no one could definitively determine how many cadets were asked for money and how many paid, as few were willing to be witnesses, prosecutor Jolović did not ask the Court to halt the competition procedure. Everything was transferred to the Police Officers' Appeals Board, which ordered the continuation of the competition procedure without several names involved in this court case. Zoran Galić, who personally formed the commission headed by Rejhan Raković, is also a witness in this case. As he claimed during his testimony, Raković was his best police officer.
At the beginning of April, the final list of cadets was published, to which appeals were again submitted to the Police Officers' Appeals Board. It is not yet known whether all appeals have been resolved.
