(Patria) - Judo club ON1 won another title at the national championship for seniors U23 held last weekend in Sarajevo.

Along with the title and the BiH junior championship title won in May this year, this is the second title for judo club ON1 in 2023.

- Without a doubt, this is what we announced and what is now being realized, and that is that ON1 is becoming a leader in judo sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Few clubs can boast such a result. In addition to the result on the domestic scene with over 10 titles of individual champions, vice-champions and bronze medalists from national championships this year, the club's competitors also won six international medals at official tournaments abroad that are scored for the world ranking list.

This is a confirmation of the quality and potential of our competitors and our club. However, this is also a challenge for our competitors and the club - says Karim Hebib, coach and founder of judo club ON1.

He further emphasizes that they must be very careful.

- Taught by many years of experience of actions towards those who were climbing to the top, they were always hindered on that path and attempts were made to stop them with something far from sport and sports ethics. The situation in sport in BiH is bad not because we do not have children and youth who would engage in sport, both recreationally and professionally at a high level, but the problem is that sport, sports associations and institutions responsible for sport are run by people whose primary goal is self-promotion, and they are an end in themselves, which can be seen if you just open your eyes a little, look and analyze what individuals and collectives in sport whose officials have been in positions for decades have done.
