Ivica Bošnjak takes over duties of BiH Security Minister

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Security of BiH Ivica Bošnjak (HDZ) will take over the duties of the Security Minister starting today, following the arrest of Nenad Nešić in the "Tunnel 2" operation.

Bošnjak assumes this role in accordance with legal procedures until a new minister is appointed.

The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, has a key role in initiating Nešić's dismissal and appointing a new Security Minister.

The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH must confirm the appointment of the new minister before they assume office.

The party Naprijed has already submitted a request for his dismissal.

We remind you that Nešić was arrested by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska on the order of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Those arrested in the "Tunnel 2" operation are suspected of committing criminal offenses: Association for the Commission of Criminal Offenses under Article 249, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH), Abuse of Official Position or Authority under Article 315 of the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska (CC RS), and Bribery under Article 39 of the CC RS.
