Appeal deadline expires, Bosnia and Herzegovina handball players still do not know their fate

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Three weeks ago, Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Switzerland 21:15 in Tuzla, thus securing a place in the World Championship play-offs on the court, however, the result from Mejdan has still not been officially confirmed.

The official match report did not include the name of Tomislav Nuić due to an oversight by delegate Darko Repensek, who did not list our handball player even though he was duly registered for the match.

At least that is what the BiH national team camp claims.

Upon noticing the oversight by the officials, the Swiss reacted as soon as Nuić played and scored a goal. They filed a complaint immediately after the match ended, and the EHF accepted the complaint a few days later, initiating proceedings on the now infamous "Nuić" case.

The final deadline for representatives of both teams to submit their reports and provide additional information expired on January 31.

The EHF confirmed that the process is still ongoing and that it has yet to be considered by the Disciplinary Commission of the European Handball Federation.

In the meantime, the draw for the additional play-offs has been conducted. The winner of the BiH – Switzerland duel at the green table will play a two-legged tie against Norway in June.

The host of the first match, scheduled for June 8, is Norway, while the return leg is on the program four days later. In Bosnia and Herzegovina or Switzerland, they should find out next week.
