Islamic Community in BiH calls for an end to war and a return to diplomacy in the Middle East

(Patria) - Following the attacks by Israel and the United States on the Islamic Republic of Iran last night, the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement calling for an end to the war and a return to seeking a diplomatic solution to misunderstandings in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

The statement condemns the abandonment of finding solutions through ongoing negotiations and the escalation of violence that threatens the entire region.

– War, conflicts, and coercion by force cannot be the way to bring the world to a safe harbor. That part of the world has suffered too much in recent decades, and its peoples deserve to live in peace and freedom – the statement reads.

It also adds that, as a community of believers that has survived the horrors of war in the recent past, the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina has a moral obligation to warn against the evil of war and conflict and to appeal for weapons to fall silent and the voice of reason to prevail.

– The people of Iran and all other neighboring countries affected by this escalation of violence, where innocent civilians are suffering, are in the thoughts and prayers of Bosnian Muslims, and we believe, of all other people who desire peace for themselves and others – concludes the statement from the Public Relations Office of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
