Išerić called on Schmidt: Pass a law declaring July 11th a day of mourning, UN Resolution obliges this

(Patria) - The President of the Association "Guardians of Bosnia" and Doctor of Law Enver Išerić sent an invitation to High Representative Christian Schmidt to declare July 11th, the day of remembrance of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, a day of mourning in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The United Nations General Assembly, by its resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, called on member states to appropriately commemorate July 11th, the date when the genocide against Bosniaks was committed. Since the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have not only ignored the Resolution of the General Assembly, but the Council of Ministers has refused to declare July 11th a day of mourning in our country, we call on the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Christian Schmidt, to pass a law declaring July 11th a day of mourning throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina," states Išerić.

In the invitation, he adds that this needs to be done "because the deniers of genocide in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina are blocking the adoption of such a decision".

"In addition, it is necessary to sanction those who deny genocide and do not respect the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly," Išerić stated.

We remind you that the BiH Council of Ministers did not make a decision on July 11th as a day of mourning on Tuesday, because ministers from SNSD, Staša Košarac and Srđan Amidžić, voted against the initiative submitted by Minister Zukan Helez.

Thus, this time too, the day of commemoration for the victims of the Srebrenica genocide will be a working day in the RS entity and a Day of Mourning in the FBiH.
