Iran launched massive attacks on US bases in the Middle East, missiles intercepted over Jordan and Kuwait

(Patria) – Tensions between Iran and the United States have further escalated after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it carried out missile and drone attacks on US military targets in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, in response to US airstrikes near the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Tehran's claims, the main target was the US Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, where long-range ballistic missiles were used. The IRGC states that four key locations within the base were hit, including hangars for F-35 fighter jets and a command center.

Iran claims a total of 21 US military locations across the region were targeted. In Bahrain, air raid sirens were activated, while authorities stated that air defense systems successfully intercepted missiles aimed at facilities linked to the US Fifth Fleet.

The Kuwaiti military also confirmed that its air defense systems engaged “hostile aerial targets” near Ali Al Salem base, which is used by US forces.

The Jordanian Armed Forces announced that five Iranian missiles heading toward the Al-Azraq area were intercepted. Missile debris fell in uninhabited areas, with no casualties or significant material damage reported.

The Iranian attacks came several hours after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) carried out strikes on Iranian radar and air defense positions in the southern part of the country, following an incident in which a US Apache helicopter was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz area.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that “no US attack will go unanswered” and warned that Iranian forces are ready for further strikes if there is further escalation.

According to information so far, most of the Iranian missiles and drones were intercepted, and there are no reports of major losses among US forces.
