Iran clear: If US forces enter the Strait of Hormuz, they will be targeted and attacked

(Patria) - Iran has warned the US military not to enter the Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump announced "Operation Freedom", announcing assistance to ships stranded in this crucial waterway.

The US military (CENTCOM) confirmed this morning its participation in the mentioned operation, announcing the mobilization of massive forces to unblock the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump, on the other hand, called the project a "humanitarian act for victims of circumstances" and said on social media that "neutral and innocent" countries have been severely affected by the war with Iran, which has been ongoing since February 28. According to him, the US will take on the role of guide so that ships can "freely and capably continue their business".

Furthermore, Trump also threatened the Tehran authorities, saying: "If this humanitarian process is hindered in any way, that hindrance will, unfortunately, have to be met with force.".

However, the Iranian army also responded with threats. Namely, they announced that US forces will be attacked on Monday if they enter the Strait of Hormuz.

"We warn that any foreign armed force – and especially the aggressive US military – if it intends to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz, will be targeted and attacked," said Major General Ali Abdollahi of the central command of the Iranian army in a statement carried by state television IRIB.

They reminded once again that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"Under any circumstances, any safe passage must be coordinated with these forces," Abdollahi said.
