(Patria) - The U.S. military announced this morning that Iranians launched rockets at Kuwait and Bahrain, AP reported.
Iran launched rockets toward Kuwait and Bahrain, but they failed to hit their targets, the United States said. Two rockets fired at Kuwait disintegrated en route, while U.S. and Bahraini forces intercepted rockets aimed at Bahrain.
The U.S. Central Command said it responded with strikes on an Iranian military control station on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and another country, without naming Kuwait.
It stated that the attack was launched in response to the United States firing a missile at an oil tanker trying to reach Iran.
"We previously warned that in case of aggression, the response would be different and harsher, and we acted accordingly," the Guard's statement said.
