Inzko with leaders of Sarajevo Canton: Improving citizens' lives is a priority

High Representative Valentin Inzko visited Sarajevo Canton on Thursday, where he discussed plans, priorities and steps that cantonal authorities intend to take to stabilize the situation in Sarajevo Canton and its progress in the coming period, with a special focus on the economy, development and improving the lives of citizens, with Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković, Speaker of the Canton Assembly Sejo Bukva and his deputy Sabahudin Delalić, reports the Patria News Agency.

- Today we opened many topics and we will often discuss the same ones. Mr. Inzko's experiences and suggestions, which we heard today, mean a lot to us. We compared European experiences and brands with those in Sarajevo. I expect us to continue to have good cooperation, especially when we start implementing the ideas that the Government has set as its priority. We see the OHR and Inzko as serious partners in implementing our ideas, said Konaković.

As a citizen of Sarajevo Canton, as Mr. Inzko defines himself along with another 2,000 diplomats here, he emphasized that he cares about where and how he lives.

- The work began with a very good exposé on March 23rd, we feel a new dynamic, a spirit of competition, which is not surprising since Mr. Konaković is accustomed to that style. You also know your potentials and capabilities. We regret that some of your citizens can only be ministers abroad; I would prefer such talents to stay at home, said the High Representative.

- I think we have a good team that understands each other and knows what it wants. Only teams achieve good results, to put it in sports jargon. We are on the same wavelength, but to raise the standards of every segment of life and work, we need economic development. Therefore, that will be our most important task, Bukva stated.
