Former Real, Napoli, Brazilian Corinthians player and former Colombian international Freddy Rincón is sought by Interpol due to alleged involvement in drug cartel dealings in Colombia, reports the Patria News Agency.
According to Colombian media, Rincón is linked to drug lord Pablo Rayo Montoya and is implicated in money laundering and drug trafficking.
Incidentally, in the early nineties, Rincón was part of the most glorious Colombian generation that played in two consecutive World Cups in 1990 and 1994, but despite great talent and potential, they did not achieve significant results.
At the 1990 World Cup in Italy, he scored a goal against Germany in stoppage time for a 1-1 draw, which took Colombia to the second round, and in the famous 5-0 victory against Argentina in Buenos Aires in the qualifiers for the 1994 World Cup, he was a key player, scoring two goals.
