Inter without Messi defeated in US Open Cup final

(Patria) - In the final match of the US Open Cup, Houston footballers defeated Inter Miami 2-1 last night, with injured Argentine Lionel Messi not playing for the latter.

Houston players took a big step towards winning the trophy in the first half, after which they led 2-0.

In the 24th minute, Griffin Dorsey scored the first goal, while in the 33rd, Amine Bassi converted a penalty for 2-0, reports Sportklub.

In the second half, Miami only managed to reduce the deficit, but not threaten the opponent's victory. In the 92nd minute, Josef Martinez scored a consolation goal for Inter.

Houston thus won their second US Open Cup trophy in history, while besides the injured Messi, Jordi Alba also did not play for Inter.
