Inspectors in RS Fined Five Gas Stations 75,000 KM for Exceeding Permitted Margins

(Patria) - The Inspectorate of the Republika Srpska entity confirmed that in recent controls, five gas stations were fined a total of 75,000 KM for exceeding permitted margins.

Out of 24 inspections carried out, irregularities were found in one out of every five inspected entities. On the Inspectorate's "black list" were:

“Nešković” d.o.o. Bijeljina (business units in Trebinje and East Sarajevo)
Krajinapetrol ad (BS Banja Luka-3)
“Angunović AGS” d.o.o. Orašje (business unit Šamac)
“Tioil” d.o.o. Vitez (PJ Tioil BENZ, Banja Luka)

These traders did not adhere to the Decree on Limiting Margins, which is a direct blow to the consumers' budget. In addition to fines for margins, an additional 10,700 KM in fines were issued on other grounds.

The Inspectorate explains that the penalty system does not leave much room for manipulation. For each violation of the Decree on Margins, the company is fined 10,000 KM, while the responsible person in the company (director or manager) bears a personal fine of 5,000 KM.

Besides prices, a problem is also a lack of transparency.

Three traders were sanctioned because they did not promptly submit data on stocks and price changes to the relevant ministry, which is a legal obligation used to monitor economic measures in the market.

Although there are about 500 gas stations operating in RS, inspectors are sending a clear message – no one is beyond the reach of the law.
