Water Level Information: Biggest Problems Expected Tuesday Morning

(Patria) - Water levels are currently rising at most hydrological stations in the Sava River basin in the Federation of BiH. Traffic has been suspended on the regional road R-403a Cazin - Gata, in the village of Tržačka Raštela, due to water overflowing onto the road. Traffic is difficult on the main roads M-4.2 Cazin - Velika Kladuša, in the village of Ćoralići, and M-14 Srbljani - Bosanska Krupa, as well as on the regional road R-476 Čelinac - Dubrava Stara, in the village of Grabovac.

"According to available data and predictive hydrological models, the most significant increase in water levels is still expected in the Una and Sana river basins, particularly highlighting the areas of Sanski Most and Sanica (HS Sanski Most, HS Sanica, and HS Hrustovo). Maximum water levels are expected to be reached in the morning hours of May 14, 2019.

The levels at which flood warnings begin (for flood-prone areas defined by the FOP) could be reached at VS Bihać and VS Bosanska Krupa on the Una River, and VS Ključ and VS Sanski Most on the Sana River.

For the mentioned areas, we suggest increased caution from the population and enhanced activities of the competent civil protection units," states the notice from the Agency for the Sava River Basin.

A lower intensity of rainfall is expected in the Bosna River basin compared to the Una and Sana river basins.

"All activities related to monitoring and informing about the current hydrological situation are being carried out in accordance with the Federal Operational Plan for Flood Defense. If the critical level at which flood warnings begin is reached, the Agency will implement all measures stipulated by the FOP.

Due to all of the above, as well as the changeable weather conditions expected in the coming period, the Agency will continue with regular and enhanced monitoring of water levels and conditions on all watercourses in the Sava River basin in the Federation of BiH," the notice emphasizes.
