(Patria) - When asked what people with mild symptoms should do - for example, a temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius for several days, a sore throat, and a headache, infectologist Ivana Milošević from the Infectious Diseases Clinic says they should contact their chosen doctor, because health centers with specific units are involved in the diagnosis of the coronavirus.
After a clinical examination, it will be assessed whether biochemical analyses and lung X-rays are needed. Those who require hospitalization are sent to the Infectious Diseases Clinic, she stated.
However, she emphasizes, such patients, as there are no indications for hospitalization, are sent home and will be monitored by the responsible epidemiologist.
When asked about additional risks and who should be particularly cautious, Dr. Milošević says that this virus does not have herd immunity, and that all people must be cautious.
"Whether someone will have a more severe course depends on many factors, primarily on comorbidities. We have witnessed a young, healthy person born in '85 being on a respirator... Fortunately, he recovered, is breathing on his own spontaneously, and that is a prognosis for young people without underlying diseases," she said, reports N1.
When asked if obesity is an additional risk, Milošević stated that this is not unknown and that people with excess weight suffered during the pandemic flu. "And we know that well."
