Judicial Office Holders Appointed

(Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) during its session, held on June 2 and 3 in Sarajevo, made a decision on the appointment of new holders of judicial functions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Numerous prosecutors, judges, and legal associates have been assigned to newly appointed positions across the country.

At the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following were appointed:

- Milada Topčić, to the position of President of the Municipal Court in Gradačac;

- Ermin Imamović, to the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton;

- Zoran Ikonić, to the position of Prosecutor in the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the Federation of BiH;

- Nevena Cvrtak, to the position of Prosecutor in the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the Federation of BiH;

- Martina Baković, to the position of Judge in the Municipal Court in Tomislavgrad;

- Frano Parlain, to the position of Judge in the Municipal Court in Tomislavgrad;

- Andrea Šoljić, to the position of Judge in the Municipal Court in Tomislavgrad;

- Marija Vila-Robović, to the position of Judge in the Municipal Court in Tomislavgrad;

- Rade Lukić, to the position of Judge in the Municipal Court in Tomislavgrad;

- Almir Handanagić, to the position of Prosecutor in the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton;

- Faris Alagić, to the position of Legal Associate at the Municipal Court in Konjic.

At the level of the Republika Srpska, the following were appointed:

- Milan Orelj, to the position of Prosecutor in the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Prijedor;

- Igor Gavrić, to the position of Judge in the District Commercial Court in Doboj;

- Saša Rajković, to the position of Judge in the District Commercial Court in Banja Luka;

- Sanja Novković, to the position of Judge in the District Commercial Court in Banja Luka;

- Marijana Hadžić, to the position of Prosecutor in the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj.

Criteria for Appointment

In making the Decision on Appointment, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as: professional knowledge, work experience and work results, and professional ability based on previous career achievements.

Also assessed was the candidates' ability to perform duties impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively, and responsibly, as well as their relationship with work colleagues, conduct outside of work, professional impartiality, reputation, and experience in managerial positions.

The Council emphasizes that in appointments they apply relevant constitutional provisions regulating equal rights and representation of constituent peoples and Others, and strictly adhere to balanced gender representation.

The HJPC notes that judges or prosecutors appointed to a judicial function for the first time are obliged to submit an initial report within 30 days from the date of appointment, in accordance with the Law on the HJPC of BiH.
