Iman Avdić sets new Bosnia and Herzegovina record

(Patria) - BiH swimmer Iman Avdić set a new junior and senior national record of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Junior Championships held in Israel, announced the Swimming Club Sport Time Sarajevo.

The young representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina and member of the Swimming Club Sport Time from Sarajevo swam a time of 4:52.27 in the 400 meters medley discipline on the first day of the competition at the world gathering.

With this result, being two years younger in the category, she placed tenth with the status of second reserve in the final.

Iman Avdić will compete in the 200 meters butterfly discipline on Tuesday.

Her club colleague Kenan Dračić also had a good performance in his debut at the world gathering.

The BiH representative achieved a convincing victory in the fifth group this morning with a personal best of 3:56.62, and 17th place overall, being a year younger in the category, in the 400 meters freestyle discipline.

Lana Pudar is also defending BiH's colors at the World Championships. This year's triple junior champion and European record holder will have her first appearance on Tuesday in the 200 meters butterfly qualifications.

In addition to this discipline, the Mostar native will compete in the 50 and 100 meters butterfly disciplines, which are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The BiH team is led by coaches Damir Đedović, Evelin Avdić, and Goran Grahovac.
